Case Packer & Shrink Bundler for Aerosol Cans

The Polypack ILB shrink bundler and case packer is designed to create shrink-wrapped multipacks of aerosol cans and automatically load them into cases for retail-ready or distribution-ready packaging. In this configuration, cans enter single file on the infeed conveyor and move through the screw drive, staging screws and screw conveyor, which arrange the products into the required pack pattern. The ROKH™ pick and place unit then lifts the staged cans and places them onto the film-draped bucket conveyor. As each bucket indexes through the machine, the cans pass through the film curtain, through the seal bar assembly and product hold down, and into the shrink tunnel, where controlled heat tightens the film around the product group to create a consistent finished bundle.

The machine’s controlled product handling helps maintain proper spacing and orientation throughout the bundling process. The bucket conveyor keeps the product organized as it indexes through sealing and shrinking, while the product hold down helps stabilize the cans as they pass through the seal bar area. The system also includes an air evacuation system with a blower fan and cylinders that raise the tunnel discharge curtain when needed to help prevent overheating. A reject conveyor is also built into the system to divert bundles when no cases are available or when a bundle is not accepted for packing, helping prevent interruptions to downstream case loading. After shrink wrapping, the rear gantry picks up the finished bundles and places them through the box funnel into waiting cases supplied by the box infeed conveyor, reducing manual handling during end-of-line packaging.
